What is a POS integration?

A point-of-sale (POS) integration allows information to be safely shared between two or more technology systems.

DoorDash POS integrations create a bridge for DoorDash to send and retrieve data from your POS system to help you:

  • Track performance: Review and analyze DoorDash ordering trends

  • Avoid manual order entry: Orders are sent directly to your POS from DoorDash, lowering the chance of human error on manually entered orders

  • Reduce hardware: All orders show up in the same place, without the need for a tablet or other devices

  • Automatically update menus: Changes made on your POS to your menu is automatically reflected on your DoorDash menu

What POS systems and middleware providers does DoorDash support?

DoorDash integrates with many POS systems and middleware providers (MWPs). Commonly used options include:

  • Checkmate (middleware provider)

  • Deliverect (middleware provider)

  • Otter (middleware provider)

  • Toast (direct POS integration)

If you use a different POS or middleware provider, see How to integrate your POS with DoorDash or visit the DoorDash preferred integration partners page.

What features are available with POS integrations?

Depending on your POS system and configuration, integrations may allow you to:

  • Set different prices by order type (pickup vs. delivery)

  • Collect tips for in-house staff on pickup orders

  • Deliver DoorDash orders with your own drivers

  • Apply promotions and discounts directly through your POS

  • Mark items as out of stock from your POS

  • Push real-time menu updates to DoorDash

  • Pause your store or cancel orders from your POS

  • Contact customers using anonymized phone numbers

  • View Dasher status updates

Feature availability depends on POS compatibility and provider setup.

How do Checkmate, Deliverect, and Otter integrations work?
