DoorDash Reservations Overview
DoorDash Reservations, powered by SevenRooms, connects your restaurant to the largest consumer network focused on food, bringing new diners through your doors at no additional cost to you.
Whether you're looking to boost off-peak reservations, reach new locals, or simply extend the reach of your direct availability, DoorDash Reservations makes it easy to amplify demand with diners who are ready to book and dine.
What is DoorDash Reservations?
DoorDash Reservations is a new discovery-based booking channel available for full-service restaurants that take reservations on SevenRooms. It operates just like a booking channel — diners find your restaurant on DoorDash and book directly through their app or website. All reservations flow into your SevenRooms dashboard with full guest data included.
This new channel expands the reach of your SevenRooms reservation availability and is fully integrated with your existing tools, including guest profiles, reservation reporting, and communications.

Where are Reservations available?
DoorDash Reservations are currently available in: Miami, New York City, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Houston, Dallas, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Washington D.C., Boston and Seattle.
SevenRooms will contact you at least 30 days before we launch DoorDash Reservations in your city.
Why offer Reservations?
Local discovery at scale: DoorDash has over 42 million monthly diners in the US, and most usage is in the city where the guest is a local. Being listed means new visibility to nearby guests who may not have found you otherwise.
Zero table fees or commissions: There are no extra costs to participate. You won’t pay per cover, and there are no setup or listing fees.
Full guest data, like every other channel: Every reservation booked through DoorDash appears in SevenRooms with full guest details. That means you can re-market to them, build profiles, and convert new guests into loyal regulars.
Complete control over your brand and availability: You decide how your listing appears, what availability to show, and whether to hold inventory exclusively for DoorDash users (contract dependent).
How do Reservations work?
Your live availability is listed under the Going Out tab — a curated space dedicated to full-service restaurants.
All reservations are powered by SevenRooms and labeled clearly in your dashboard as “Booked By: DoorDash”.
You can set rules around which seats are available on DoorDash, or choose to hold back a specific number of covers per dining period for DoorDash, depending on your contract.
Cancellation policies, credit card holds, and guest communications are all supported.
Guest data is shared between your restaurant and DoorDash, with full transparency and marketing opt-ins preserved.

How do I set Reservations up?
Confirm your cuisine, venue description, and listing images on the Reservations on DoorDash settings page. From there, all Reservation Widget availability will be published on DoorDash; depending on your contract, you may be able to control which Access Rules surface on DoorDash.
Where do I find it?
To manage your DoorDash listing on SevenRooms, navigate to Settings and select Reservations on DoorDash. From here, you can update everything from your cuisine tags to images and listing visibility. This includes a preview of your listing.
Please note that the star rating does not reflect your DoorDash rating and is a dummy piece of data.

What can I edit?
1. Primary and secondary cuisine
Your primary cuisine describes what your restaurant offers and is displayed on the listing for your restaurant. Your secondary cuisine helps optimize search visibility on the DoorDash platform but is not displayed to guests. Select cuisines from the dropdown menu that reflect your restaurant.
2. Venue description (guest-facing language)
This description shows once a diner clicks into your venue on DoorDash. It also powers your Reservation Widget description, as this is a shared Guest-Facing Language string. Keep it short, clear, and compelling.
3. Images
You can upload up to 10 images, and we recommend at least 5 to make your listing pop. These images are what diners will scroll through before deciding to book.
Image requirements:
Format: JPEG or PNG
Minimum size: 1400 x 800 pixels
File size: Under 2MB per image
How to add images:
Upload from your device
Pull from your Google listing (as long as you have the rights)
Select from your website
Use pre-populated images already available in your SevenRooms library
You must select at least one image for your listing to go live. If your listing is missing images or other required information by the deadline communicated via email, SevenRooms may populate these fields on your behalf using best judgment.
4. Listing visibility
Depending on your contract terms, you may be able to control whether your restaurant is currently active on the DoorDash Reservations network. To manage visibility, go to the top right corner of the Reservations on DoorDash page and toggle your listing Online or Offline
Depending on your contract, you may be required to keep your listing online. If unsure, please refer to your agreement or reach out to your account manager.
How can I manage access rule visibility?
If your contract allows you to control what appears on DoorDash, follow these steps:
Navigate to Settings and select Reservations on DoorDash, and ensure the integration is toggled to Online
Go to Access Rules in your SevenRooms dashboard
Click into the Access Rule you want to modify
Scroll to the Audience section
Toggle the DoorDash audience on or off
Turning it off means this Access Rule will no longer be visible on DoorDash
Turning it on makes the inventory available to DoorDash users
Important: Changes here only apply if your venue is allowed to limit visibility per Access Rule. If you're contractually obligated to maintain Reservation Widget parity, this toggle may not be editable.
DoorDash Exclusive Access Rules
Your contract may require you to hold tables exclusively for DoorDash Reservations. If this is the case, please reach out to your account manager or contact Merchant Support before making any changes to ensure you are not violating your agreement.
Pre-launch checklist
Make sure you’ve completed all of the following by your city’s go-live date (sent via email):
✅ Primary & Secondary Cuisine
✅ Venue Description (Guest-Facing Language)
✅ At least one image uploaded
✅ Listing toggled Online (if required)
Keeping your listing complete and up to date ensures you’re ready to welcome new diners the moment DoorDash launches in your city.
