Meet Trill Burgers

Co-founded by Andy Nguyen and rap star Bun-B during the COVID-19 pandemic, Trill Burgers started out by hosting pop-ups at local Houston events where they served their smashburgers. Once they opened their own brick-and-mortar location, it blossomed into a full-blown local hotspot, even as the team kept showing up at music and cultural events. By 2022 Team Trill had won the coveted "Best Burgers in America" title on Good Morning America, and in Houston September 18 was named Trill Burger Day.

The national spotlight on Trill Burgers and its ties with entertainment helped ensure its place as a regional favorite. With that kind of local love for the brand, the business was growing fast and looking to tap into new markets.

The challenge: Roll out food delivery and online ordering fast

As of a year ago, Trill Burgers had never offered delivery to their customers. But they knew it was something their customers — and lots of unreached diners they wanted to serve — were after. They also wanted a new way to deliver a range of new promotions to existing and prospective customers.

The solution: Seamless online ordering, delivery, and promotions

Trill Burgers turned to DoorDash to meet their delivery and promotional needs. Specifically, using Online Ordering through the DoorDash Commerce Platform allows them to offer commission-free* delivery to customers from their own channels. Trill Burgers stays in control over their customer experience and profits, and they've been able to run promotions and even offer exclusive items directly through DoorDash.

Now, they're expanding. Trill Burgers is set to open three new locations in suburban areas, and they're getting ready to activate DoorDash online ordering and delivery at all of them — and are expecting to see a big sales boost when they do.

Though Trill Burgers had never offered any kind of delivery prior, they were able to quickly embed DoorDash into their processes and systems – and impressive growth followed.

Throughout Trill Burgers’ journey, the DoorDash team has offered active support. In fact, the Trill Burgers team credits DoorDash with helping them launch delivery and grow their business so quickly.

Andy Nguyen also plans to use DoorDash as he opens a new restaurant brand – the first ever official Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Pizzeria in Santa Monica, California. With the trust Trill Burgers has built with DoorDash, it was an easy choice to continue bringing beloved food to customers across the country.
